Life and Health Rate Filing Bureau

The Life & Health Bureau’s Rate and Form Filing Section assists the Superintendent in reviewing and approving all life and health forms and health insurance rates to ensure compliance with the New Mexico Insurance Code and Insurance Division rules. This section deals with the regulation of accident and health, credit life and disability, life, long-term care and Medicare supplement insurance lines of insurance.

The Section’s goal is to minimally process 90% of all form and rate filings within 90 days and develop speed-to-market initiatives. Over the next year, the Rate and Form Filing Section intends to achieve a 90% outcome within 60 days. The Section also will continue its work to improve its SERFF, IDEAL and BIZFLOW information systems to improve speed-to-market and administrative efficiency.
