Ann Echols

Ann Echols

After graduating from Eastern New Mexico University with a B.S. in Health, Physical Education and Recreation, Ann Echols worked as an educator for many years. She began working for the New Mexico Corporation Commission in 1989 with Commissioner Louis Gallegos as an Administrative Assistant. In 1992 she became the Administrative Services Division EEOC Officer. From 1996 to 1999 she was the Docketing Manager, at which time the New Mexico State Corporation Commission became the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission. Ann was then appointed Bureau Chief of the Corporations Bureau.

The Corporations Bureau of the New Mexico Public Regulation Commission ensures industry compliance by issuing certificates of incorporation/authority, overseeing the organization and registration of limited liability companies, and verifying the completeness and accuracy of related charter documents.

In addition, the Corporations Bureau is responsible for:

•   Collecting fees
•   Updating corporate information files with information relevant to officers, directors and registered agents
•   Interacting with other State and Federal Agencies
•   Establishing and maintaining agreements with the Internal Revenue Service, numerous law firms, and approximately ten (10) service companies from those states that access the Corporations Bureau's database on the General Services Department's mainframe
•   The Corporations Bureau also maintains agreements with forty-nine (49) states, five foreign countries and the Navajo Nation
